Katha's birthday

The birthday party marathon goes on! On Wednesday we happily celebrated Katha's 29th birthday (ups, did I mention the age?) in the 6-Millionen-Dollar-Club. Although some people got really hurt (anyone who does NOT know how bad blue marks feel - please don't hesitate to contact me), we had a great time!

I am still sitting in the library in Göttingen; when I turn my head to the left I can see the spicy springroll with her head smoking - at least one of us is actually working, aren't you, dear? ;-). My invitation from Russia finally arrived on Tuesday and I sent all the necessary documents to Hamburg. Keep your fingers crossed for me! I had to delay my departure for about 2 weeks... Russian bureaucracy and German mail... at least I already know where I will live in St. Petersburg. You can't imagine how much I am looking forward to have my own closet after 2 months living out of a suitcase!!!
@Mel: I hope I will make it to Peter in time to see you and your family!!!

My mother met a nice young English speaking lady on the street the other day. And since my smart mom knows I am writing an essay in English and need someone to read the whole thing, she asked the lady for her phone number. I have to note that my mom doesn't speak any English, but she realized that is was rather fluent English. So, when I was home this week, my mom forced me to call the lady - my stuborn mother dialed the numer and pressed the the phone in my hand. I immediately realized that the lady was not an English native speaker, but we were chatting nicely anway. I had a funny feeling and eventually asked the lady what her native language is... RUSSIAN! :-))) Yay!

I am the proud owner of 4 different apartment keys in Göttingen. It must be funny to watch me changing flats all the time! Thank you very much, Chen-Yu, Katha, Elke, Christian and Jojo!!! I moved in with two men yesterday and got a great dinner last night! ;-)

Chen-Yu is 30!!!

Another one of us hit the 30 and her face is still normal and her hair is black as always... I heard she managed to go out till 3am last night! Not bad, you old cow ;-)
Chen invited us to a great Asian dinner party and did an excellent job cooking!!! (Thanks a lot again, Chenita!) She got lots of presents, including a paddling pool, floating tires, a weird monkey toy, a super size Simpson's cup and lots of other things!

I am looking forward to Russia with mixed feelings now, I got used to Göttingen again and it will be hard to leave :-(((
I hope you are all doing great! Enjoy the pics!

Chen-Yu Lin turned 30... can you believe it??? She is still a good fighting machine... just as a Jedi Knight!

Thomas and Klaus (the big) are leaving already. I wonder what they are up to...

And by the way:
I am nerdier than 6% of all people. Are you nerdier? Click here to find out!

Overall, Anna scored as follows:
94% scored higher (more nerdy), and
6% scored lower (less nerdy).
What does this mean? Your nerdiness is: Definitely not nerdy, you are probably cool.

Gaston's birthday

More pictures... :-)))
Gaston, a nice guy from Argentina and with Italian roots, and a ex-colleague of Sven invited us to his birthday party! I had a great time, but was a little bit swamped with all the latinos running around there... and asked myself once more: Why on earth do I want to go back to RUSSIA? Well, Spain is next! (No puedo esperar a visitarte, Sergito)
My invitation from Russia is ready and I can apply for the visa next week! I am really looking forward to St. Petersburg and hope to get a chance to go to Akademgorodok! I miss you all!!!

All right, I have to recover from my slight hangover now :-)

Elsa's birthday

A rather unspectacular week has passed in Göttingen. I spend most of my time in the library - physically, but mentally in Akademgorodok, Siberia :-) ICQ is such a great thing! I also got to watch a great movie the other day: 2046. Thanks to the spicy springroll, I slowly become an expert on Asian movies :-)

Thanks to everybody who helped me with my essay so far!!! Greetings to South Africa, Australia, the USA, and whereever you are, Josh.

Ups, did I say the week was unspectacular? NO, it was Elsa's birthday on Thursday and we had our first barbecue-campfire-party this year on Friday, as you can see on the pics.
I am getting old... I turned my back on the WiWi-Party :-((( It used to be my very favorite party! I made it to the entrance door at 2:30am, they still wanted 3€ admission, and I decided to go back to bed. Chen and Klausi had a great time!
More party tonight though ;-)

I have nothing to say

I have absolutely nothing interesting to tell. I wake up in the morning, get up and ready for the day (which most likely includes a shower and breakfast - I miss MacKoffee!!!), walk to the library, get a wireless-lan card, look for a comfy spot in the library and settle down. At 12:25pm Chen and I start bugging Klausi to get ready for lunch (we are ALWAYS late anyway), have lunch (which takes FOREVER... try to find a table for 10 people in the Mensa at 1pm when everybody wants a seat...!), then coffee break (since lunch is a tiring business) and crawl back to the library. If I am lucky people chat with me in ICQ (I even chat with Chen who sits a few meters away from me) or I receive some emails. Every second day I go jogging and fall happily asleep around midnight :-)

Spring in Göttingen

I am happily back in Göttingen from my long good Easter food/sleeping-break at home, and the temperature jumped high up to 20°C! Yay!!! So Chen and I digged out our pretty sandals :-)

Yesterday evening (Saturday) we spent at Paul's playing Cluedo (thanks Paul for hosting the crazy crowd)! Besides the fact that some of the players weren't really into the game (!!!) and forgot to show their cards (dear reader, ignore this if you don't know the game), we had a great time! Especially Ann-Kathrin (Anne) and Maren as well as Sveenie and Chen seemed to have enjoyed themselves immensely doing other things! Please see the pics :-)

This morning (at 1pm, we are STUDENTS) we met for breakfast like every Sunday at Meyer's and did great job entertaining the cute waiters. If you guys (I am, of course, behaving very well! I am only taking pics of YOU guys!) keep behaving like this, we soon will have to stay home! I know it is spring, but PLEASE, control yourselves!!! ;-)

Random side note: I will get a one-year visa for Russia! Isn't that cool? Vodka, here I come! :-) I hope to get a great flat in St. Petersburg and open "Hotel Anna" again! Please visit me!!! (For everybody who hasn't heard about this yet: I found another traineeship in Russia and will go back there within the next 4-5 weeks!)

Real friendship! :-) Paul and Klausi

I received a nice email from one of the Spainards we met at St. Patrick's Day, and although this was some time ago I want to post the pics.
